Sandra Ratcliffe

Sandra is inspired by the West Coast of Scotland in all its moods, especially the great storms! She paints mostly sky and seascapes, trying to capture the great energy in the seas and skies.  She is a regular visitor to the islands up and down the West Coast to paint and I have produced many works from the island of Gigha, Bute and the Outer Hebrides.  Following a lengthy career in journalism, she went back to art, her first love from her years at Rothesay Academy on Bute.  She completed three courses at Glasgow School of Art (before the tragic fire!) and studied landscape, oil and watercolour painting.
